Developer Maze Theory, the creative force behind “Doctor Who: The Edge of Time” VR, has unveiled plans for a sequel that will transcend virtual reality, heading to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch in early 2021. While specific details about the console generations remain under wraps, fans can look forward to an exciting continuation of the Doctor Who universe.
Additionally, a mobile entry in the series is in development through a collaboration with Simulacra studio Kaigan Games. These projects, alongside the original VR experience, will collectively form a “trilogy of experiences,” promising appearances by iconic foes like the Weeping Angels and Daleks, as well as Jodie Whittaker’s incarnation of the Doctor.
“The Edge of Time” debuted in November last year, captivating players across PlayStation VR, Oculus, and Vive headsets. The game garnered positive reviews, with its eerie atmosphere earning particular praise. Our own Ian even gave it a spin, finding it “surprisingly spooky.” You can watch him play in this YouTube video.
