The official Mafia account, which had been silent for almost two years, suddenly awoke and tweeted a single word: “Family.” At first, I wondered if it was simply acknowledging Mother’s Day since ours was in March. But since the account hadn’t mentioned any other Mother’s or Father’s Days before, I suspected there was more to it than a coincidence.

So, what could it mean? Could there be a new installment on the horizon, or are we finally getting that much-requested Mafia II remaster? Clearly, there’s not much to go on, and it’s difficult to draw a meaningful conclusion from just one word. But with the next-gen just around the corner, it’s quite possible we’ll learn more in the weeks and months to come.
As Bertie mentioned earlier, the Mafia 3 documentary-style opening wasn’t always planned to be the game’s start. Once upon a time, there was a more explosive opening sequence, but it was so sensitive that the developers scrubbed it to prevent footage from getting out.
Now, we’re left wondering what this “Family” tweet really signifies. Is it a hint at a new story, a new chapter in the Mafia universe? Or could it be something else entirely? Only time will tell. In the meantime, we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled for any further clues or developments.
