In Star Trek Online, it’s the Year of the Klingon, and to mark the occasion, developer Arc Games has unveiled details of a major, multipart, 2411-focused Klingon storyline. Throughout 2020 and into 2021, they’ll be presenting this extensive and captivating Klingon tale. The recent update on the game’s official website states, “Over the rest of 2020, and part of 2021, we’re going to be putting on a major, multipart, 2411-focused Klingon storyline.” Although specific details are yet to be disclosed (but it’s likely J’Ula and her time-traveling cohorts are involved), as part of this long-planned game-changing story, they’re taking time to focus on the honorable Klingons. The developers express their love for Klingon content that includes thrilling adventures like descending into Grethor and battling a god. However, a lot of it is old and doesn’t match the game’s improvements over the years. So, they’re devoting time and resources to give these content pieces visual and gameplay enhancements. Over the next twelve months (perhaps more), players can expect new Klingon character models for beloved characters like J’Mpok, updated skins for classic Klingon ships like the Bird of Prey, and fresh environments and cutscenes to breathe new life into this beloved content. The celebrations begin with “#StovokorSaturdays,” where the devs will debut new updated Klingon content on their social media pages, offering glimpses that will leave fans eager to discover. There will also be artist streams for fans to watch the artists as they create, and ten Forward Weekly interviews featuring colleagues from various teams on the weekly community stream every Wednesday. Star Trek Online is free to play and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
