To really get us all hyped up for the launch of Apex Legends’ fifth season, Respawn has spilled the beans on what’s in store. They’ve shared details about a season-long treasure hunt. In this new season, nine mysterious pieces of an “artifact” will be hidden around the world, and it’s your mission to find them all. Whether you’re playing in duos, trios, or ranked modes, competitive play will be rewarded with Treasure Packs. And for every five Treasure Packs you earn, you’ll unlock a new Hunt. There are a total of 45 of these packs to collect. The weekly Hunts start on 19th May. Once you have at least five Treasure Packs, you can venture into Kings Canyon at night to brave the dangers solo or with your squad and bring back pieces of the artifact. While you can team up with your squadmates, it’s important to note that you’ll only get the rewards if you’ve unlocked the mission yourself. Interestingly, players adventuring alone will get some automatic respawns if they’re knocked down. Completing all nine Hunts will earn you an exclusive Weapon Charm and unlock a new chapter in the “The Broken Ghost” story. Recovering all nine artifact pieces will enable you to unlock even more rewards, delve into the past, and uncover a secret that the Outlands might not be ready for.
As for the Broken Ghost story, Respawn teases that Loba is caught in the middle of the Apex Games and Hammond Robotics, on a personal quest for vengeance. But just how far is she willing to go? How does the Broken Ghost fit into her plans for Revenant? And what happens when a Legend stumbles upon the truth? We’ll get to see a side of the Legends’ lives we’ve never seen before, outside of the Games. Alliances will be formed, friendships tested, and vendettas born. And when the dust settles, nothing will be the same again in a mystery with far-reaching consequences for everyone.
In the trailer that followed last week’s Stories from the Outlands, which introduced Loba as the next legend, we learn that Loba is in search of Revenant for revenge after her father’s death. She discovers rows of simulacrums in a hidden facility beneath Kings Canyon and tries to destroy Revenant’s head, but her temper gets the best of her and the head is whisked away. Looks like we’ll be losing Skull Town, a popular landing zone, as the fracas in the labs wasn’t kind to the settlement. By the end of the trailer, it’s seen sinking into the ground. Whether the entire town is gone is a mystery, but we can expect some big changes in the area.
We won’t have to wait long to find out what’s changed, as the next season starts on 12th May. Get ready to embark on this exciting treasure hunt and discover the secrets that await in Apex Legends’ fifth season!
