<Blink and you might miss it, but Kirby is featured in Fortnite's latest trailer. As GoNintendo noticed, Kirby appears in the opening seconds of the official Fortnite trailer for its Party Royale mode. You can see the beloved Nintendo pink blob bouncing around in the background. It's quite curious that Kirby is blurred out in the equivalent videos on Xbox and PlayStation YouTube channels. I'm wondering if there's some legal reason for this. Epic has been asked about it. For some reason, the Fortnite video hasn't been uploaded to Nintendo's YouTube. Poor Kirby! So what's Kirby doing in this trailer? Is it a tease for his future appearance in the biggest game? Maybe just a fun Easter egg? Perhaps it's a nod to their history. In 2019, a tiny Fortnite logo appeared on a Nintendo 3DS game wallpaper. This logo was later removed, but the internet remembers. All this is quite unlikely. What we see in the trailer, the part with Kirby, is from the live stage of Party Royale. Epic streams DJs who use their own footage in the game. I suspect Kirby accidentally ended up in Fortnite rather than as part of a complex ARG for a big crossover. Still, Kirby and Fortnite make an odd yet kind of cute pairing. I wouldn't mind a Fortnite mode where you could play as Kirby, gobbling up everything. After all, there's a real Kirby Battle Royale game.
