JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD has vanished from the Xbox Live Marketplace and the European PlayStation Network. It’s as if it has simply disappeared into thin air, as noticed by NeoGAF. A representative from Capcom informed Joystiq that those who already possess the game will still be able to enjoy playing it online. However, the rep refrained from commenting on the possibility of its return. Given that the publisher made no contrary statement, it appears reasonable to conclude that the HD re-release of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has come to an end.
At least for now, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD remains accessible on the US PSN. But who can tell how long this will remain the case if it turns out to be a matter of expiring rights? It’s a real pity because this game had a devoted cult following, even though it was rather specialized. “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is a truly fascinating fighting game that was launched at a time when accessibility took a backseat to mechanical depth and combos that required a high level of skill to execute,” wrote Matt Edwards, a Eurogamer contributor, in his review of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD.
We have sought comments from Capcom and will provide an update if the publisher offers any clarification on this issue.
