Nintendo’s exceptional fist-fighting game Arms has obtained another substantial update. This time, it incorporates a Replay feature and a mysterious new contender in the solo mode.
Undoubtedly, the most notable addition in Arms’ 3.2 update is the fresh achievements system. Once you’ve accomplished specific feats within the game, new badges will be unlocked.
Arms doesn’t explicitly disclose its unlock criteria from the outset. Thus, you’ll have to figure out the feats on your own. This seems like a somewhat missed chance to incorporate a bit more guided structure into the single-player experience. Nevertheless, the unlocked badges can be showcased alongside your avatar in online matches, providing a pleasant touch of personalization.
When badges are acquired, they also grant a considerable amount of in-game currency. This is beneficial for obtaining new Arms. Many (but not all) badges are unlocked retroactively based on your pre-3.2 achievements. If you’re aiming to collect the entire set of badges, there’s an ongoing effort to compile a comprehensive list on the Arms Reddit page.
Elsewhere, the new Replay option keeps a record of your five most recent matches. You can replay them at normal speed or in slow motion, freeze the crucial moments for a closer examination, and even adjust the camera angles.
Last but not least, the arrival of a new and challenging Grand Prix mode interloper, Springtron, is here. This Springman-like robot fighter, which Nintendo teased a few weeks ago, will occasionally hijack Arms’ single-player Grand Prix mode at level 4 or above. Apparently, this only occurs when you’re near the end of a run without losing a single round.
All in all, update 3.2 presents a robust set of new features for an already outstanding game. The complete patch notes, which encompass a number of additional tweaks and balance changes, can be found on Nintendo’s website.
