Today marks the release of Battlefield 1’s significant October patch, which pledges a plethora of enhancements to the gameplay. It introduces new Dog Tags and novel gameplay settings. However, the most headline-grabbing addition is that it enables players to browse servers for the fan-adored Operations mode. This modification is expected to significantly expedite and simplify the process of initiating an Operations match, making it a much more seamless experience.
DICE affirmed this news on Twitter, with the patch notes set to be disclosed this evening.
Battlefield 1’s multiplayer will undergo a two-hour downtime today to facilitate the deployment of the latest patch. The update is automatic, and the downtimes are as follows:
- PC: It will be offline for two hours, commencing at 8am BST.
- PS4: Similarly, it will be offline for two hours, beginning at 8am BST.
- Xbox One: It will be offline for two hours, starting at 9am BST.
The essence of the Operations mode is that the attacking team endeavors to advance the frontline until they successfully conquer the map, while the defenders strive to reinforce their positions. The result of each round seamlessly carries forward to the next, thereby creating a sequence of interconnected battles that heighten the intensity and strategic depth of the gameplay.
Simultaneously, Operation campaigns are slated to be released in November. These campaigns string together multiple Operations and offer distinctive rewards. The initial Operation Campaign is titled Eastern Storm, which amalgamates the two Operations from Battlefield 1 In the Name of the Tsar: Brusilov Offensive and Red Tide. This particular campaign is exclusively for Premium Pass owners.
In later November, DICE will introduce Fall of Empires, which combines the base game’s Iron Walls and Conquer Hell. More campaigns will be added in the subsequent periods.
