ORIGINAL STORY 4/03/2015 10.04am: Microsoft has verified a fresh list of self-published games that are set to arrive on Xbox One through its ID@Xbox program, with Kickstarter hit Wasteland 2 being among them.
The classic party-based RPG makes its appearance on Xbox One in Game of the Year guise, and it comes with new combat mechanics, voice-overs, and an upgraded lighting system powered by Unity 5.
The indie side-scrolling game Shovel Knight is also headed to Xbox One, following its earlier releases on 3DS, Wii U, and PC.
Magic Duels: Origins, a new free-to-play iteration of Wizards of the Coast’s CCG, is also on its way. This marks the first time the series has adopted a free-to-play model on console, following in the footsteps of Blizzard’s successful free-to-play card battler Hearthstone.
All in all, Microsoft has enumerated approximately 50 titles currently in the pipeline for its console, including the previously announced Smite, Cuphead, and Goat Simulator.
And there are numerous more games yet to be disclosed, Microsoft concluded. The company has now dispatched ID@Xbox development kits to over 1000 indie developers worldwide.
