This Christmas, Nintendo is set to reintroduce the NES as a standalone console, featuring an inbuilt library of 30 games. It’s an exciting development that’s sure to bring back nostalgic memories for many gamers.
But what about the SNES? Well, an interesting phenomenon has emerged on YouTube. Hugo “lyberty5” Dorison has created a miniature SNES that, unfortunately, won’t be hitting the market for obvious reasons. However, his home project is truly something to behold.
His creation combines a Raspberry Pi Zero, a USB hub, a generous amount of solder, and a clay outer shell. He meticulously carves and paints this shell to give it the appearance of a doll’s house version of the genuine SNES. It’s not just the existence of this creation that’s remarkable; it’s the clear passion that Dorison poured into this project. Here’s a video showcasing the construction process and the final product working flawlessly when connected to a TV.
Nintendo’s official NES Mini is slated to be released in the UK on 11th November. And here’s a comprehensive list of all 30 NES Mini games.
