Netflix has unveiled the episode titles of The Witcher, along with other tantalizing tidbits. The show, starring Henry Cavill, is all set to premiere its first season on Netflix. Prior to the launch, Netflix took to Twitter to disclose the titles of the initial eight episodes.
Accompanying each title is a concise description and a gif of its logo. It is these descriptions that offer us a glimpse into the events and themes that the show will explore. So, what awaits us? Well, the first episode, titled “The End’s Beginning”, comes with the following description: “A monster slain, a butcher named.” This implies that the show will delve into Geralt’s The Butcher of Blaviken origins.
Did someone, somewhere, summon a djinn to then wish for all 8 chapter titles? Here you go. Now does anyone know a doctor to check Jaskier’s vitals?

The second episode, named “Four Masks”, features the description: “We take a look into a sorceress’s early life.” Undoubtedly, this means we’ll be presented with Yennefer’s backstory. The third episode, titled “Betrayer Moon”, has a bestial footprint as its logo. Could it be hinting at werewolf-related shenanigans?

The fourth episode, “Of Banquets, Bastards and Burials”, includes the description: “The Law of Surprise is how one repays.” The Law of Surprise is an age-old custom stipulating that a man saved by another is obligated to offer a favor as payment, typically the saved man’s firstborn child. The fifth episode, “Bottled Appetites”, has the description: “A fateful encounter, a bard is injured.” Without a doubt, the bard in question is Dandelion.

And, of course, there’s a dragon. Does the dragon set the kingdom ablaze? If so, perhaps we’ll be treated to a flashback to a time before it was consumed by flames.

And lastly, the eighth episode is called “Much More”. Its description reads: “The Witcher Family, as you all love to mention.” This season finale is bound to see Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri come together in some manner.
