Gearbox’s Borderlands series is gearing up for an action-packed few months! Tomorrow, September 1st, a six-game digital-only Borderlands bundle is set to make its way to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. And mark your calendars for October 6th, as Borderlands 3 is about to make its highly anticipated Switch debut.
Let’s start with the Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box, the official name of this bundle. It neatly packs every game in the series to date, with the exception of last year’s Tina Tina’s Wonderlands spin-off. That means you’ll get Borderlands 1, 2, The Pre-Sequel, 3, Tales from the Borderlands, and New Tales from the Borderlands. And not only that, it also throws in every bit of accompanying DLC. It’s a massive dose of Borderlands goodness!
Now, with such a substantial amount of content, it’s no surprise that the bundle comes with a rather hefty price tag. It’s priced at $149.99 USD (or the equivalent in your local currency). But here’s the good news: Publisher 2K is offering a variety of discounts. To start with, there’s a much more wallet-friendly limited-time launch price of $59.99. Additionally, 2K has announced several upgrade paths for existing Borderlands players, making it even more manageable to get on board.
For Xbox owners who already have a digital copy of any of the games in the Pandora’s Box collection, they have the option to upgrade to the full bundle for just $30 on the Microsoft Store. Meanwhile, PlayStation owners who already own a physical or digital copy of Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition (PS4), Borderlands: The Handsome Collection (PS4), or Borderlands 3 (PS4 or PS5) can also take advantage of a similar $30 upgrade offer.
When it comes to Steam players, they’ll need to pay the full price (or the limited-time discount price) for the Borderlands Collection: Pandora’s Box, minus the cost of any included games they already own.
Now, over on the Switch, there’s no Pandora’s Box bundle. But don’t worry, Borderlands 3 is coming to the platform as an Ultimate Edition. This includes the 2019 base game and all previously released DLC for $59.99 USD. And to remind you, this Ultimate Edition is hitting the Switch on October 6th, while the Pandora’s Box collection is arriving on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC tomorrow, September 1st.
