A brand-new video showcasing an enticing 10-minute glimpse of the 3DS sequel to A Link to the Past has emerged on the internet.
Take a look at its sleek and fresh new art, and those irresistibly charming switches that transform from a cheerful smiley to a disgruntled frowny when you give them a whack. The entire Super Paper Mario-esque notion of scurrying along the walls as a doodle seems to be far more than just a mere novelty. It appears to revolutionize the level design in a significant manner. Hopefully, the ingenious design experts at Nintendo will persist in concocting novel and increasingly crafty ways in which this feature can be employed in the subsequent stages.
Interestingly, the player now propels arrows using buttons, contrary to the touchscreen-based DS Zeldas. This seems logical considering the retro button-based controls for movement. Nevertheless, I can’t help but ponder whether touch controls will make a comeback as an option, as using items felt much more intuitive in that manner, in my opinion. Of course, this would imply that the action would have to occur on the smaller 2D bottom screen, which I somewhat doubt Nintendo would wish to emphasize with its splendid lenticular widescreen flaunting its capabilities on the top.
Regrettably, one aspect that remains unaltered is the irritating text that pops up to notify you that the blue rupee you unearthed still holds a value of five rupees. Could someone at Nintendo kindly alleviate these comically superfluous messages?
