United Front Games has excitedly proclaimed that it is diligently engaged in the creation of a fresh game within the Sleeping Dogs universe.
It is named Triad Wars, a title that publisher Square Enix recently trademarked.
“Well, we’re crafting a new game!” UFG disclosed in a brief update on its website. “At present, we can’t divulge much about it, but perhaps you’ve come across a trademark registration for something called Triad Wars? Indeed, we’re ecstatic that it’s yet another game set in the Sleeping Dogs universe. It’s something we’ve been yearning to undertake for a long time, and we’re truly delighted to be collaborating with Square Enix once again… However, that’s all we can offer you for now – we’ll have more details about what the game will entail in 2014.”
Square Enix acquired the open world crime game Sleeping Dogs after Activision removed it from its publishing lineup. It was released in 2012 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
The game subsequently managed to sell 1.75 million copies. Nevertheless, similar to other Square Enix games published last year, it fell short of expectations. Square Enix had anticipated 2 – 2.5 million sales.
