There’s an awesome $1k waiting to be claimed – if you’re capable of recreating a specific glitch in Super Mario 64.
Speedrunner pannenkoek20012 has placed the reward to assist in replicating and comprehending a mysterious bug that was recently discovered and posted on the internet.
The glitch was documented in the Tick Tock Clock level of the platformer. It was unexpectedly brought to light during a recent Twitch stream by user DOTA_Teabag.
It’s not clear what triggers the glitch to happen, but it seems to involve a jump that lands precisely on the seam of two surfaces. Subsequently, the game propels Mario upwards, skipping a part of the level.
Pannenkoek20012 hopes that replicating the glitch will enable the speedrunning community to reproduce it regularly, so it can be utilized in other aspects of the game and then reliably incorporated into speedruns.
To demonstrate that you’ve replicated it, you simply need to record your gameplay via the Mupen 64 emulator in an.m64 and.st file, and then upload it to a file-sharing website.
