Final Fantasy 14’s housing lottery system problems have now been resolved.
The producer and director, Naoki Yoshida, affirmed that, although the errors were “extensive and persistent”, they will be settled when the game enters maintenance mode on May 16th.

It has taken a whole month to fix the issue. Back in April, Yoshida apologized to the players for the continuous problems with the MMORPG’s new housing lottery system, which prevented players from winning any land. On the official website, he explained what the team was doing to tackle the problem where players were informed that their bids were unsuccessful because there “were no participants in this lottery”, or that the winning number was “0”… even though no players could be assigned that number.
However, after tomorrow’s maintenance, the game will “accurately convey lottery results for the affected plots to the appropriate servers” and notify the winners of their successful bids, even if they were previously wrongly informed that their bid had failed.
