Yooka-Laylee will offer local multiplayer. You can either engage in a collection of eight mini-games with up to four friends, or team up with one other player in the campaign.
In the campaign, a second player takes control of the Bee Team and collects quills, butterflies, and avoids traps.
In the mini-games, players compete against each other. The mini-games currently named are as follows, and they play exactly as their titles imply.
- Glaciators
- Kartos Karting
- Blag the Flag
- Gun-let Run
- Jobstacle Course
- Hurdle Hijinx
The mini-games can be accessed from Rextro’s Arcade – fittingly, Rextro is a T rex who has a penchant for retro games. They will be available when Yooka-Laylee launches on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac on April 11th. The Wii U version of Yooka-Laylee was unfortunately cancelled, but a Switch version is in the works.
