This weekend is the 7th annual CitizenCon for Star Citizen, where developers Cloud Imperium Games will likely unveil more new features players can experience in the long-awaited space sim. Assuming the earth doesn’t get vaporized by our dying sun first, of course. To celebrate, Star Citizen is having another Free Fly event.
Cloud Imperium’s latest Free Fly promotion starts this Sunday, November 24th, and runs until Thursday, December 5th. So, if you’ve been curious about how the game is developing but don’t want to spend any money, now’s your chance.
During the Free Fly event, participants will be able to pilot a different selection of vehicles each day, with a total of 28 ships from Star Citizen’s extensive 100+ lineup available for testing. A full schedule can be found in Cloud Imperium’s Free Fly announcement post.
As for CitizenCon, it’s happening in the UK this year, specifically at the Central Convention Complex in Manchester. It takes place tomorrow, November 24th.
All panels and presentations on the Anvil Stage, as detailed in the CitizenCon 2019 schedule, will be streamed live on Twitch starting at 1pm. Chris Roberts’ keynote speech, which is usually where the big reveals happen, is set to begin at 8pm UK time tomorrow.
During last year’s CitizenCon keynote, Roberts unveiled the epic cinematic trailer for single-player mode Squadron 42, featuring the likes of Mark Hamill, Gillian Anderson, Gary Oldman, and Andy Serkis, and shared gameplay of Star Citizen’s planet Hurston and the city of Lorville. Both locations were added to the ongoing alpha shortly after.
Star Citizen, which was originally expected to launch in 2014, still doesn’t have a release date.
